000 104 - Spalted Beech

Open to the Public

Sourced from Singleton Park in Swansea. This wood was from  large old Beech trees probably over two hundred years old. During strong winds in 1999, the trees blew down. It was this natural incident which provided a bounty of Beech which was deliberately left for several years and processed appropriately to become spalted. This has created the lovely colours and patterns these pieces hold.

The Park is open to the public and is a lovely space to visit with views over Swansea bay.
