Bowls
My bowls are turned on a pedal powered bungee lathe. The technique of bowl turning by pedal power will give a similar final product to a power lathe. However the process of production is like much of the green woodwork in comparison to conventional carpentry. It is produced in a gentle manner using subtle cutting techniques whilst generated by human power and skill. As oppose to noisey, health and safety ridden modern power machienery that is powered with lots of electricity.

This bowl has been turned with a wide, thin rim and then scalloped with a knife.
The black lines are from an effect called spalting. The wood has been left to be infected by fungus and then turned before the wood rots. The result is a myriad of beautiful patterns.

Pestle and mortars are also available upon request.
